A Romantic Gansevoort Destination Wedding
Babymoon, Honeymoon and Destination Wedding
Occasionally I have the rare occurrence of having to cover two different types of portraits in one shoot. In this case, the bride Min also wanted to take some maternity pictures on her wedding day! Min and her husband Quincy had traveled all the way from the streets of New York City to see what Grace Bay was all about. They didn’t mess around either, the Gansevoort is one of the most beautiful resorts on island and they picked NILA Destinations to make sure everything went smoothly on their day.
Min and Quincy really wanted to have as relaxing of a day as possible so they chose to elope in the Caribbean. They walked down together to the ceremony and took their time, savoring every moment. Gansevoort is one of my favorite properties to photograph at, it’s always very clean and the beach is never crowded. Min had expressed in our initial meeting that she liked very natural, candid looking photos. This is one of my most popular requests and I always advise clients that it is up to them to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible to make successful portraits in this style. Min and Quincy turned out to be perfect for this style. It didn’t seem to take them any time at all to adopt our island mentality! Just go with the flow.
NILA Destinations had everything running on time so I didn’t have to rush through our beach portraits after the ceremony. A little champagne also goes a long way to keep the groom smiling! We had a beautiful gold sunset as a backdrop to both Min’s maternity pictures and the newly wed’s creative beach portraits. Turks & Caicos is really the star of the Caribbean when it comes to the white sand beaches and stunning sunsets! I hope to work with Min’s new family when they return for their anniversary next year!
