The wedding of Joy & Jamar was far and away one of my favorites I have photographed all year! It was such a happy, loving, and warm atmosphere. Right from the start of it everyone was in such high spirits. Joy was nothing but smiles in her suite as she finished her preparations for her big day. The dress, flowers, rings, everything looked so picture-perfect. The flower girls were little models in their own right! It’s rare when everyone is so remarkably photogenic. Blue Haven resort and marina held up amazingly for pictures, offering beautiful light all over the property.
Jamar and his groomsmen had their own high spirits and were tons of fun to work with. There wasn’t a quiet minute with the guys all singing or dancing one way or another. The clouds came in just in time to help cool things off for their stunning ceremony at the east point of the resort. The procession was smooth and everyone looked great- no hiccups here! Tears were shed as the vows were read and you could tell the entire audience was in awe. A cheerful transition to a lively reception followed suit and all under a beautiful twilight sky.
Joy and Jamar were awesome to work with together for their portraits- I normally have to remind couples to smile but in this case I almost needed to remind them to breathe! We nailed some beautiful, romantic shots on the beach, palm trees, and surrounding architecture. The reception intros were fun and spunky but ultimately winded down with a beautiful first dance. Some words from the bride herself: “Our wedding day was what we dreamed of. We wanted to be surrounded by our family and friends in a beautiful place. The laid back style of Turks and Caicos embodied who we are as a couple, which is why we fell in love with it as a destination wedding location.”
I hope to work with the couple again when they return for their Anniversary!!
