Turks is the Best Island!!
Family Photographer Captures Toohey Family Vacation
The Toohey family wanted to vacation in a small Turks and Caicos boutique resort with a private beach and a unique view. Well, the Shore Club turned out to be the perfect fit for them. This newly built resort on the south side of Providenciales is a one-of-a-kind experience for the Caribbean traveler with great taste. It is located on Long Bay- an amazing stretch of beach kissed with an entire ocean of turquoise water all of the way to the horizon and beyond. At low tide the beach goer can safely walk over a mile out into the water. And for a Turks and Caicos family photographer like myself, the resort grounds and beach are replete with pockets of great shooting locations.
I started the Toohey’s photo session at the front lobby and worked our way along the many pathways to the vacant beach. The two very cute little girls brought their favorite dolls with them. So, I decided to use these unique props in various compositions. Because the wind at Long Bay is always very strong I always recommend that the ladies tie their hair up to minimize flyaways. Fortunately, Erin and her two daughters took my advice, because the wind was blowing hard. There was even a few kite boarders skimming around the shore line.
The session was very productive as I kept them moving. I like to keep my subjects off guard by moving from one idea to another. This helps them stay loose and comfortable. It also allows me to create a diverse portfolio of creative images in a very short period of time. As it turns out, the Tooheys preferred the most creative shots over the more traditional ones. But more importantly, they had a fun and memorable experience at one of the most beautiful locations in the Caribbean and perhaps the world.
