Brandi and Chad have the cutest little girls, Lark and Wren. They made the trip from Texas to be able to have a relaxing beach vacation with their daughters. Brandi planned every detail of the trip including the coordinated outfits for the family, most importantly what the girls would wear for their first beach portrait session. She opted for bold colors of a popular Lilly Pulitzer pattern with fuchsia and green.
We met in the lobby of The Somerset Resort to begin their photo session. Their clothing colors made it a natural fit to start with garden photos before heading to the beach. The lush tropical green plants at the Somerset Resort are a gorgeous backdrop for family photos where the light is soft and beautiful. It can be bright on the beach when we begin photos so it’s helpful to start in the garden where it’s cool, shady, and less windy.
Family Beach Photos
Of course, the girls were excited to get to the beach, so we didn’t waste any time heading there when the light was best. On the beach, we did lots of different combinations of photos including some with Lark and Wren together, mom and daughters, dad and daughters, couple photo and lots of options of the family together. All of the combinations made it easy for Brandi to create a beautiful photobook as a family memory as well as to give professional prints as gifts to grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Lark and Wren were at such a great age that we took fun lifestyle-like photos of the family walking together and having fun. There were lots of giggles, smiles and happy memories from this Turks and Caicos vacation. We also took some more formal style photos that they could use for a holiday card or gift prints for grandparents.
Brandi did an excellent job of picking a bolder color palette for the outfits for her family and it worked out perfectly with the lighting conditions of the day on the beach. The sun wasn’t overly bright when we got to the shoreline, so the softer pastel colors of the turquoise water made the clothing color combination really pop and for the girls to really stand out in all the photos.
