Rick and his family have been visiting Turks and Caicos for over ten years. Last year we were taking maternity photos for him and his wife, Jenn, on a secluded beach and this time, we got to meet their adorable baby Sophie, who was now 10 months old.
The family always choose to stay at Villa Renaissance which feels like a home away from home for them now. For their portrait session, Rick and Jenn wanted the focus to mainly be on the three of them as a new family and their daughter’s first trip to Turks and Caicos. Half way through the session, the rest of the family joined them for some group pictures too.
Daytime Beach Photos
To best suit their daughter’s schedule, they had opted for a morning photo session so we met in the lobby at 8am for a consultation and to begin. This particular day was quite overcast and cloudy, but this made for good photography conditions. They would be able to keep their eyes open on the beach without the need for sunglasses on a bright day. There was also a nice warm breeze but the color of the ocean was still a gorgeous turquoise that Turks and Caicos is reknown for.
Beach Family Photos
In preparation for their family photo session with us, Jenn had found adorable mommy-and-me matching patterned outfits. Starting with some resort and garden photos, we then progressed to the beach. Rick’s mom then joined for some grandparent and grandchild pictures and Sophie was in such a happy mood we placed her on a towel on the sand where she could have her own little moment and be the star of the show. More family photos ensued and as it was a morning beach shoot, Jenn and Rick got themselves and baby Sophie into swimwear, again, adorably matching. They played with Sophie on the sand and then took her into the sea to splash about and see what she thought of the water. Sophie and a great time and especially loved being thrown in the air and caught by her dad.
This was a great first photo session for baby Sophie and just the start of her adventures being documented with her family in Turks and Caicos!
