Staci wanted to do family portraits during her Turks and Caicos vacation because she’s a photographer and as a mom, she’s never in any of the photos. She wanted something super special for her family so we opted for a secluded beach portrait session. This is always great for kids because they get to see and explore a different part of the island. Staci’s sons are aged 14 and 12, so it was a perfect way for them to have some fun and enjoy.
Finding Great Locations for Pictures
Stacy did a wonderful job of coordinating the outfits with a lovely shade of violet and lavender tones and her sundress brought all of the colors together. When we arrived on the secluded beach it was pretty bright so we started with some lifestyle family photos, walking along the shore for a more candid look. It’s nice with small coves to be able to walk and get different angles of the shallow water coming up close to the feet. There’s a beautiful spot that depending on the tide, the rocks provide a wonderful position the family a little higher up with the water all around them. When we got there the timing and the tides were ideal so we made sure to get that picture early on. We continue to walk because we have the whole beach to ourselves, rounding the corner so we looked all the way eastward to the neighboring cay, Little Iguana Island.
Photographing the Family Groups
We did some fun photos of the brothers, the favorite of which was jumping in the air. Their purple colored shirts looked amazing against the colors of the sky and water.
We took time to do pictures of each of the parents with the boys and some of my favorite pictures were couples photos of Staci and her husband. She was so happy to have photos with her husband because normally there’s no one to take that picture since she’s always been the one with the camera and documenting the family with her pictures.
It was so great to create beautiful lasting memories for this photographer mom to give her something she will be able to cherish forever of their amazing family vacation to Turks and Caicos.
