It’s a long way to come from California to Turks and Caicos. No matter how long it might take, our California clients are always speechless with how beautiful Turks and Caicos really is. Corinna and her family travelled from San Diego to Providenciales for their family vacation. She booked a secluded beach portrait session because she wanted something unique and special. The session was particularly important because she was wanting to update their family wall photo and also because her daughter was going to be a senior in high school.
Fun Family Photos
On the way to the secluded beach, we talked about the goals for the session. We decided to spend some extra time on Corinna’s daughter so she could have some special senior photos taken on the award-winning Grace Bay Beach. We started photos when the light was bright by doing some more active family photos with a lifestyle look. Corinna and her family walked hand-in-hand along the shoreline smiling and having a wonderful time. I made sure to do all the different combinations of mom and kids, dad and kids, and the siblings together. An important photo for parents is always the photo together of the kids so we made sure to do some various options for Corinna to pick a favorite.
When the light got softer, we moved to a picturesque area with rocks for what will most likely be the image chosen for the wall portrait. The rocks provide a beautiful look and composition for a landscape that enlarges beautifully for the wall. One of my favorite moments of the session was when one of the local pot cake dogs wandered onto the beach and walked right through our portrait session. It was so funny how he photobombed the family portrait! It just goes to show that you never know what can happen when you get to the beach!
