Shelly and Brian are regulars to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Almost a year prior to their wedding, we were honored to be chosen to photograph their engagement session. We conducted that session at the Palms Resort, the sister resort to the Shore Club, which is where they wanted to have their marriage ceremony. Fast forward a year on to May 21, 2022, Shelly and Brian got married in one of the finest resorts in the Turks and Caicos, the Shore Club, where we were hired as their wedding photographer. The Shore Club has received many awards, including World Travel and Leisure’s Top 100 Hotels in the World in 2022, and Luxury Travel Advisor’s “Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World” for 2022. It’s no wonder that they selected this magnificent venue for one of the most important events in their lives.
Wedding Guests from Far and Wide
Because of Shelly’s Indian origin, many of her guests came all of the way from India. There were guests that also came from many parts of the United States. The ceremony was a traditional American style wedding without any of the colorful Indian elements. The location was in the breezeway which is conveniently located between the two towers. This location faces the amazing Caicos Bank and it also offers the guests a reprieve from the intense sun, because the buildings block the sun’s rays in the later part of the day.
A Walk Around the Resort
After the ceremony was over we photographed all of the family groupings and then we took Shelly and Brian on a walk around the resort. This gave us the opportunity to showcase the beautiful resort grounds and also to get some very intimate shots of the newlyweds. Afterwards we completed our service with a few images of the reception, including the first dance, the parent dances, and the cake cut. We look forward to photographing this beautiful couple again in the near future. And who knows, their group may include a plus one child!
