Suzanne and her family came to the Turks and Caicos for the first time for a vacation. They live in Arizona which is in the middle of the Southwestern desert with no water around them. They were used to seeing cacti and a brown desert, so they loved seeing palm trees, colorful flowers, and turquoise water.
This was a special trip for the family for them to be together and have some quality family time. Suzanne picked the Wymara Resort which is located on the award-winning Grace Bay beach. The resort is a favorite place for photos has it has gorgeous natural light which is flattering for skin tones and portraits.
Portraits in the Resort
Wymara Resort recently went through a modernization and the lobby area has been upgraded with gorgeous neutral toned furniture and whitewashed wood. It’s the perfect combination of rustic and contemporary design. The lobby is a lovely place to start for photos so we did some family photos together where the lighting was flawless and the conditions were ideal. The ivory color palette for clothing that Suzanne selected looked so elegant and classy with the resort architecture.
To practice for the beach walking photos, we did some walking family photos through the main lobby corridor with the resort pool showing and the billowing curtains lining the lobby corridor.
Daytime Family Pictures
Suzanne booked a morning portrait session so we wanted to make sure to get to the beach before things got too hot and bright for everyone. Once on the beach we had a chance to do some lifestyle like family photos where everyone was walking and enjoying their feet on the powdery white sand with the crystal blue water behind them. The light was beautiful and not too bright thanks to some light clouds. We did various groups such as the full family together, the sisters and then individual pictures of the daughters followed by Mom with the girls, and Dad with the girls. For family photos it’s important to get every combination, including individual pictures. We know it’s a lot of work to get ready for a portrait session so we don’t want to miss any photo opportunities with different poses or pairings. These are the special memories that will last a lifetime.
