The Evans family loves taking an annual beach vacation. They’ve come to Turks and Caicos before and enjoy staying at different places in Providenciales when they come for each visit. It’s a chance for them to explore and see all the beautiful locations the island has to offer.
When we met with the Evans family at Saving Grace Villa, we started with a consultation about the goal of the photo session, which is always how we begin each session. Kristi, the mom, said her main goal was to replace a family wall photo of the three children since they had grown a lot over the past few years. As well, to do family photos for Christmas cards and was open to also updating their family wall photo.
Photos at the Villa
Because updating the wall photo of the children was the main priority, we started with photographing the kids on the steps at the entrance of the villa. Saving Grace Villa is a charming Caribbean style villa with gorgeous green gardens at the entrance and a spectacular location on Grace Bay beach. The colors in the garden were perfect with the beautiful jewel toned greens and the colors the kids were wearing.
Kids and Family Beach Photos
After we finished with the kids and the full family with the villa backdrop, we headed to the beach where the light was ideal and the watercolor was bright turquoise. The amazing rock formations on the beach provided a great foreground for the photos. We did various combinations of the kids together, dad and the kids, mom and the kids and then the full family together. We then walked to the beautiful white sandy beaches next to the villa where we took casual photos of the family and kids in the sand. We took particular care to make sure to document each of the children individually and then the twins together.
We ended the portrait session with the photo of the family with their feet in the water. The tide was perfect so the ocean gently covered their feet for a super unique beach portrait. We achieved the goal of an updated children’s picture, a new family photo for the wall, and lots of pictures for Dad to make one of his special annual photo books. We look forward to when the Evans family returns and we can do another fun photo session.
