Upon meeting Anna and Derrick in the lobby of Ocean Club East for their couple’s beach portrait session, they were relaxed and ready to go. Dressed in simple blue denim jeans and comfortable yet chic tops, we instantly loved their casual style.
As we made our way from the lobby towards the beach, we took some photos in the resort gardens, which indeed actually made it to the shortlist of their favorite photos to put up in their dining room, with the lush greens as a backdrop.
Ocean Club East is situated on a gorgeous section of Grace Bay because to the east is a very quiet part of the beach with a sandy point and palm trees in the far background, the quintessential Caribbean backdrop, just what you imagine when thinking of a tropical shoreline. During the golden hour as the sun goes down, it’s an ideal location for people to look their best.
Beach Poses for Couple’s Portraits
With just the two of them, we had plenty of time for a variety of different poses, and Anna and Derrick took it all in their stride. There were soft romantic moments, and then more playful moments with genuine fun, and this is portrayed in their images.
Their photo session ran very smoothly which was largely in part to the couple being so relaxed and going with the flow, having fun and enjoying the experience. Choosing the right clothes is a large component into how you feel, all of which the camera will notice!
We give gentle guidance for creating the best poses and Anna and Derrick took this direction very well and were a dream couple to work with.
We have since made one of their images into one of our favourite products at Paradise Photography, a free-standing crystal block. These crystal blocks are very popular as their vibrant finish looks stunning when placed on a shelf or desk either on their own or in a cluster of others of varying sizes.
