We love shooting weddings at Beaches Resort because it usually means our brides love pictures and that photography is an important part of their wedding day. As the official Premium Wedding Photography Company for Beaches Turks and Caicos, we’ll capture all the essential moments and tailor photography coverage to ensure we include any special requests.
Getting married at Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos is very popular as it takes all the stress out of a destination wedding. Ceremonies can occur at different times of the day and for Jamie and Matt, their wedding would be a daytime wedding in the gorgeous sunshine on Grace Bay Beach.
Wedding Day Coverage
Prior to the couple arriving in Turks and Caicos, we had a phone call with the bride to discuss the photography timeline and coverage. It’s our job as photographers to keep everyone on track for the events of the day. Coverage would include the girls finishing getting ready together, the groomsmen before the ceremony, the wedding ceremony of course, followed by group formal photos, couple photos on the beach and then the reception. One of the options we discuss with all our couples is whether they would like to have a First Look on their wedding day. This is when they get to see each other quietly on their own before the ceremony. We photograph the moment the groom sees his bride for the first time in her wedding dress and it’s usually a beautiful and emotional moment for both parties.
A First Look with a Twist
In this instance, Jamie told us that she had wanted a First Look, but Matt preferred to wait until the ceremony to see his bride. Jamie had a plan though. She was insisting on a First Look, and Matt, being a nice guy, eventually agreed. However, there was a twist… Jamie, with a great sense of humour as well as also being considerate that this was not really what Matt wanted, decided upon a surprise… In the First Look, instead of Matt turning around to see Jamie in her dress, would in fact see his brother, Tyler… yes, in a white dress!!
We thought this was such a fun prank, and Matt took it so well, it was a hilarious moment and Jamie had prepared a thoughtful notecard for Matt to read to himself instead.
The rest of the day went off as both had planned! The beach ceremony was emotional with personal vows said to each other. From there, we took family photos and the bridal party pictures. As this was in the middle of the day and quite hot on the beach, we then took the opportunity for couple photos to step away from the heat into the resort grounds for some shade and some pictures with nice leafy greens and some variety to wedding day pictures. As it got a little cooler, we went back to the beach for more couple pictures in time for the reception to begin with the first dances.
The wedding party all enjoyed a poolside reception and celebrated the newlyweds. We are thankful to Jamie and Matt for choosing Paradise Photography to capture their special day and wish them a very happy future together.
