College Sweethearts Reunite
Ashley and Kenny are a surprisingly unique couple. They met in college and dated for four years. But after college they went in different directions in life. They moved to different cities and married different people. But the universe had other plans for them. After twenty years they were reconnected and immediately fell back in love with each other! “We’re super lucky to get a second chance at love… and we know it!”, said Ashley. They both have three children, so their family grew like the Brady Bunch family did. Coincidentally, they each have a son named Charlie and the two boys were born in the same year!
They chose to have an intimate wedding at a private villa in Leeward. Amazing Grace villa was the perfect choice! Not only was it the perfect setting for the wedding, but it provided accommodations for their large new family. Ashley and Kenny made sure that all of the kids felt included in the day and had moments with each child. The boys all received matching watches and we made sure to take a special photo with all of their hands connected. All of the girls received earrings in the shape of the infinity symbol which is the symbol of Ashley and Kenny’s relationship. Ashley also has a tattoo of the infinity symbol.
To further include the new family in the ceremony, they did a sand ceremony where all the kids were asked to pour sand in a jar with them. Each child had a different color of sand and the sand was poured from conch shells. Kenny was very emotional and cried during the ceremony.
They had a steel drummer for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The guests ate amazing appetizers by the pool while the couple took photos on the beach with Christine and Rachel from Paradise Photography. The reception dinner was served al fresco under the stars with tiny lights for decoration. The flowers were in shades of pink and blush with classic gold embellishments. The chef made one incredible dish after another. The speeches were all so heartfelt and there wasn’t a dry eye in the group. They had a traditional cake cutting and champagne toast.
Ashley and Kenny surprised their guests with a fire dancer and fireworks. Ashley said, “The most special part of the night was unexpected. We knew the kids would love [the fire dancer] and I thought we’d get some good pictures. There was a moment when we were standing in front of everyone holding the fire. I looked over at Kenny and he gave me a little hand signal we give each other. It felt like we were the only ones there and a moment I’ll never forget!”
