Natalie and Andrew have a special connection with Turks and Caicos. They are avid kiteboarders and they regularly come to the island for some of the best kiteboarding in the Caribbean. When this active couple decided to get married, there was no doubt they would pick a beach location and their favorite spot in the world, Turks and Caicos.
Villa Destination Wedding
Natalie and Andrew wanted a large destination wedding that would have all their family and friends together in one location, so they picked the luxurious oceanfront Emara Estate. Emara is known for its spectacular ocean views of the Caicos bank, its private beach and unique peninsula. The terrace style layout provides many different aspects of the ocean at various elevations, and this makes it particularly popular for wedding photography.
Wanting to make the best use of the villa architecture, Natalie and Andrew decided to have their wedding ceremony on the upper terrace. This terrace is elevated and completely open so the bride and groom could exchange vows under their wedding arch with the backdrop of the ocean for all the guests to see.
One of the most striking wedding photos was a drone shot showing the ceremony with the ocean background. After the happy couple said “I do” we took a large group photo with all of the guests and the newlyweds using a drone. When the guests left for cocktails, we moved away the chairs on the terrace and had it all to ourselves. This was a perfect spot for the beginning of the romantic photos of the bride and groom together. They walked along holding hands with turquoise ocean water in the background.
Wedding Photography
Natalie’s preference was for editorial style photography so we knew exactly what to do to achieve this look. Making the most of the time and the variety of scenic spots, we took the couple down to the beach for a completely different look. Natalie and Andrew walked hand-in-hand along the pathway leading out to the peninsula and we were able to get gorgeous photos of them both from the land and the air with the drone. The colors of the ocean, the sky and the rock formations were so dramatic. Natalie looked so elegant and beautiful in her wedding dress with cathedral veil blowing in the wind.
Sunset Wedding Portraits
To get the sunset photo of the bride and groom, we went to the beach. The blues of the ocean matched the sky at that time of day. One of Natalie and Ryan’s favorite photos was their twilight photo where we lit them from behind. The couple was locked in an embrace on the pathway under a palm tree as the sky turned purple. There’s a narrow window of time to get this high impact photo for what can be placed on the wall or an ending photo in an album. We were happy we got it!
Wedding Reception Photos
After a brief break for the couple to refresh themselves, they entered their wedding reception to lots of smiles and cheers from their guests. The reception was on the beach platform just steps away from the ocean. String lighting and tiki torches made for a warm ambient glow of their pretty tablescapes. The night finished with dancing, emotional toasts and a traditional cake cut.
We were so honored to be part of the special day for this sweet couple and we look forward to seeing them again when they return to Turks and Caicos.
