Ryann and her family have been to Turks and Caicos before. When she returned for this trip it was with her full family – her parents, her brother and his girlfriend. Because this was such an important trip with everyone’s schedule lining up to allow them to be together, she wanted to book a portrait session as a special memory of the family time together. It was a gift to her mother. The reason why it was such a meaningful gift for her mom and dad was because they got to spend time with Ryann’s adorable grandkids. Ryann is a mom of two sweet toddlers, Adelys and Mason.
Pictures at the Resort
When we met everyone for the first time in the lobby they were all dressed in coordinating outfits with a blue color theme. Because there were small children we wanted to work very quickly while they would be fresh and alert. The most important part of any portrait session is always the time that we spend on the beach with the turquoise water as the background. However, the lovely gardens of West Bay Club resort are a favorite spot for pictures before heading there. The late afternoon light is perfect and the full family photo of Ryann’s family with the backdrop of the tropical greens is such a beautiful picture with smiling happy faces. It was also a chance to take some individual pictures of the little ones where they weren’t squinting and so you could see their gorgeous features with their bright eyes.
Portraits on Grace Bay
West Bay Club is situated on a large stretch of Grace Bay beach. When we got to the beach we did lots of different combinations of the grandparents and kids and of Ryann and her family. We also took time to take couples photos of her brother and girlfriend as that’s always something nice, then everybody in the group has pictures that they want and love. The light was very soft on the day of our photo shoot which gave for a very lovely high key look to the pictures. They all plan on coming back again and we’ll do more pictures so we can document how the children grow and the family life evolves.
Ryann’s mom wanted a wall portrait for her home, and it will be one of the family as an entire group with everyone together. It’ll be hard to choose because we were able to get so many great combinations. We did the more formal style in the garden and then something fun in the beach where we got down in the sand where everybody could be comfortable. The other photo she will want for her birthday gift will be the one of the grandparents and grandchildren as that’s always a favorite!
We’re looking forward to seeing this lovely family again soon on another return trip.
