For some couples, a wedding isn’t about a big guest list or a grand ballroom. It’s about finding a breathtakingly beautiful place that feels just for them, something unspoiled, intimate, and unforgettable.
That’s exactly what Rebecca and Tim chose when they decided to say “I do” at Sailrock Resort in South Caicos.
A Love for Private, Remote Places
Rebecca and Tim love quiet places that feel far from the crowds. Their love story is deeply connected to Turks & Caicos: Tim proposed to Rebecca on their first trip here, so it felt only right to return for their wedding day.
Because they wanted to elope privately, photography was everything to Rebecca. We did a series of phone calls before their wedding to come up with ideas for their photos based on our experience and knowledge of South Caicos and Sailrock Resort. More than having just picturesque places for photos, wedding photography involves telling a story of the day. It’s about having a vision for what the starting point of the photos would be and having a vision for what the ending photo would be. This is particularly important for an elopement when family and friends will not be part of the wedding day because photos would be the only way Rebecca and Tim could share their wedding with family and friends for their celebration once they returned home.
An Intimate Timeline at Sailrock Resort
Together, we planned a timeline that reflected every bit of what they love about this island. We started in their stunning ridgetop villa suite, capturing getting-ready moments of wedding details like her custom-designed wedding ring, wedding shoes, and colorful tropical bouquet. It was a great place to photograph the couples’ first look before they strolled hand in hand walking along the winding pathways toward the resort lobby. Along the way, we stopped for pictures in scenic places. The newly refurbished resort lobby is a favorite spot. It has a wall mural made of conch shells by a famous local artist, Pamela Leach. The conch shells are an iconic part of a Turks and Caicos trip so it’s great to have that memory captured in a photo. Before heading to their ceremony, we took photos on the wooden deck overlooking two bodies of water, the Caicos Banks and the Atlantic Ocean. It was the perfect spot to use the drone to capture the breathtaking ocean vistas where you can get unique colors from both bodies of water. It was something Rebecca wanted for her photos.
A Ceremony to Remember with livestreaming from Paradise
Rebecca and Tim’s ceremony was held at the Cove, one of the prettiest spots at Sailrock, with that picture-perfect blend of Atlantic blues and the calm Caicos banks in the background.
One special touch was that the couple wanted family and friends to watch them tie-the-know. The staff at Sailrock helped set up a live stream, so more than a hundred people tuned in to watch them exchange heartfelt vows they’d written for each other.
A Drone, A Jeep, and a Hidden Beach
After they were officially married, we hopped in a Jeep (thanks to the resort team!) and headed to a more secluded beach for drone portraits and stunning couple photos. The island’s watercolor shades were out of this world it was like they had a slice of paradise all to themselves. Because Rebecca and Tim love the beach we coordinated and planner together to come up with a curated wedding itinerary that would include stopping for photos at the most picturesque places South Caicos has to offer.
An Adventure to Remember: Jerry Camp & The Sandbar
The final part of the day was an absolute highlight. Rebecca changed into a show-stopping mango-colored gown she’d dreamed of wearing in the ocean.
We paddled kayaks from Jerry Camp out to a hidden sandbar at just the right tide. The timing of the tide is key because we needed to have enough of the sandbar showing so the couple could walk together holding hands like they were in the middle of nowhere. We took some fun behind-the-scenes photos kayaking to the sandbar. Rebecca traded her Jimmy Choo wedding heals for a pair of brightly colored water shoes that matched her dress. Once we got to the sandbar, it looked like Rebecca and Tim were the only two people on earth walking hand in hand across a stretch of white sand surrounded by shimmering teal water. The drone angle from above made for a striking composition and was worth it to make sure that was included as part of the wedding photography.
For the grand finale, they floated in the warm shallows, Rebecca’s vibrant dress dancing in the current. It was pure magic, the kind of image you see on a postcard and think, “I can’t believe that’s real.”
How They’ll Share Their Day
Because they chose to elope, Rebecca and Tim plan to host a reception back home where they’ll display their photos, including the stunning drone shots and watercolor portraits. Their images will be their way to relive the day and bring a piece of Turks & Caicos home to the people they love most.
💡 Thinking about eloping? Sailrock and South Caicos are perfect for couples who crave adventure, privacy, and truly one-of-a-kind wedding photos.
Tips for an Epic Adventure Elopement
✅ Choose a location with variety from villas and decks to beaches and sandbars. Sailrock Resort has it all.
✅ Use the drone, it’s worth it for these secluded settings and ocean views.
✅ Coordinate with tide times so you can access secret sandbars or get those dreamy shots floating in shallow water.
✅ Live stream your ceremony, the perfect way to include family when you elope far away.
✅ Bring a second dress! A bold gown like Rebecca’s mango-colored stunner pops beautifully against the ocean.
Rebecca and Tim’s wedding reminds me that the best love stories don’t always happen in crowded ballrooms. Sometimes they’re paddling to a hidden sandbar, barefoot and blissful, surrounded by nothing but turquoise water.
