Alexandra and Taylor are no strangers to the Turks and Caicos. They have been coming to the islands with their families over the past ten years and therefore are familiar with the advantages of doing a destination wedding here. They knew they wanted a summer-like wedding but during the winter. The winters in Nashville, Tennessee can sometimes be very cold, but in their minds, nothing could beat having their special day along the sunny idyllic shores of Grace Bay. And after having researched quite a few venues on Providenciales, they decided to have their event at West Bay Club Resort.
A Great Venue for their Caribbean Destination Wedding
West Bay Club was the ideal location for their wedding for a number of reasons. First, this resort is located on a relatively uncrowded section of the western end of Grace Bay Beach. The beach is very wide and even at high tide during high surf conditions there is plenty of room to have a wedding and a reception on the beach without the risk of anything get washed away. The grounds of West Bay Club are also very good environment in which to take photos. And of course, the suites are meticulously appointed which also make a great environment in which to photograph the preparations, first look and group photos.
Selecting the Right Photographer
Because the photos are so important, it was critical to Alexandra to choose the right photographer. She wanted the best professional wedding photographer in the Turks and Caicos. This photographer needed to have a lot of experience with the midsize 40-person wedding like hers. And Paradise Photography was honored to be selected.
A Beautiful Ceremony
The weather was a bit windy and the surf quite high. But overall, the weather was great. After an hour of preparation photos, we moved to the beach for the ceremony. Because Alexandra and Taylor had already got married in the States, the ceremony was shorter than usual because there was no need to sign the marriage certificate. After the ceremony we photographed all of the family groups and finished the session with the bride and groom walking up and down the beach.
Reception Time
The wedding reception consisted of the formal dances, starting with the bride and groom’s first dance, and then followed by the father-daughter and mother-son dances. Then there were various rounds of toasts, and finally the cake cut. Alexandra and Taylor’s final photo was of the two of them kissing over the cut cake. All in all, their wedding was a complete success.
