Some love stories start with fireworks. Others start with plane tickets, crossed time zones, and a commitment to making it work, no matter how many miles apart.
For Anthony and Christina, distance was never a barrier. They built their relationship on coast-to-coast flights, spontaneous visits, and big dreams for the future.
When they first met a year and a half ago, Anthony was living in California and Christina was based in New Jersey. Their very second date? Turks and Caicos. That first island trip sealed the deal: it wasn’t just about beautiful beaches and clear turquoise water. It was about falling in love somewhere that felt like theirs.
So when Anthony decided it was time to propose, there was no question where it would happen.
Planning the Perfect Turks & Caicos Proposal
Anthony reached out to me weeks before they even boarded their flights. He knew one thing for sure: Christina deserved to have every detail captured perfectly so they’d have photos to relive this moment for the rest of their lives. Anthony knew his fiancé-to-be loved photos and therefore he wanted the best for this meaningful moment in her life.
Together, we planned the surprise proposal right in front of their resort, , at just the right time of day, when the light glows soft and the ocean turns a shade of turquoise that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.
💡 Tip for future proposers: Proposals are best timed for golden hour which is 30-60 minutes before sunset when the beach is quieter, the sky is dreamy, and your photos will look like magic. If you prefer a brighter “pop” of color to your photos, we can recommend other ideal times
The Moment She Said “Yes!”
On the day of the big question, Anthony and I texted throughout the afternoon to make sure every piece was ready. I found the perfect vantage point to stay hidden until he dropped to one knee.
They strolled down the beach hand in hand. As the waves lapped at their feet and the sun dipped lower in the sky, Anthony turned to Christina, told her how much he loved her, and pulled out the most stunning four-carat pear-shaped diamond ring.
Christina was so shocked she could barely speak. She had tears, laughter, and pure joy all at once. When she finally said “yes,” she couldn’t stop admiring the ring and the moment they’d created together in their favorite place.
From Surprise to Sunset: Their Dream Engagement Photos
But the magic didn’t stop there.
After a few sweet moments on the beach in front of Club Med, we hopped in my car and drove to a secluded stretch of coastline I knew they’d fall in love with. Far away from the crowds, we had the beach entirely to ourselves with just the sound of the ocean, the last rays of sunlight, and two people soaking in the fact that they’d just promised forever.
Anthony and Christina kicked off their shoes, danced in the sand, and let the sea breeze do what it does best: make everything feel more alive. We took photos until the sun dipped below the horizon, capturing every smile, stolen glance, and sweet embrace. To get them the most variety of photos they could use when they returned home, we worked quickly with the light to get playful, candid, romantic, and formal photos. We did closeups of Christina’s brilliant wedding ring and whenever we could, made sure to feature Anthony’s tattoos.
How They’ll Use Their Proposal Photos
This session wasn’t just about the surprise; it’s the first chapter of their wedding story. Christina and Anthony will use these images for their Save the Date cards and a custom engagement signing book at their wedding next year. And of course, they’ll print a few favorites to hang on the walls of their first home together. It will be a constant reminder that all those miles and long-distance flights were worth every second.
Ready to Plan Your Own Turks & Caicos Proposal?
If you’re dreaming of asking the biggest question of your life somewhere unforgettable, Turks and Caicos is truly one of the world’s most romantic proposal destinations. Here’s what to keep in mind:
✅ Pick a location that means something to you — maybe the first place you visited together or your favorite stretch of sand. If it’s your first time to Turks and Caicos, we can make suggestions!
✅ Time it right — sunset gives you soft, flattering light and fewer beachgoers.
✅ Work with a local photographer who knows how to blend in and capture the moment discreetly and then guide you into beautiful engagement photos right after.
✅ Celebrate with an extra location — a hidden beach or private cove adds even more variety to your gallery.
Love stories like Anthony and Christina’s remind me that the best moments in life are the ones you plan with your whole heart.
