Portraits at the Ritz Carlton Resort
We were so excited to do pictures at the brand-new Ritz Carlton Turks and Caicos. The resort has been open for just a week, and its guests are already taking advantage of the beautiful space to have their pictures taken on the number one beach in the world- Grace Bay Beach. The wide-open spaces of this triple tower resort provide an amazing location to conduct all kinds of portrait sessions. The modern architecture, tasteful appointments, and the beautiful light that it generates offers the professional photographer myriad ideal spaces throughout the property to do all sorts of poses and execute all kinds of creative ideas. For over a year we watched as this record setting 12 story resort was built wondering what it would offer in terms of photographic potential. And now after having conducted our first portrait session on the property, we are not disappointed.
The Kopa family are travelers who regularly stay within the Marriott group of hotels and resorts. Therefore, it was no surprise that they were one of the first guests to book a family vacation at Turks and Caicos’ newest resort. And their stay would not be complete without a family photo session. However, the family photo session turned into their youngest daughter Alexa’s high school senior portrait session. There is a trend among US high school seniors to have a full-scale photo session in the form of a fashion shoot rather than have a short traditional session that their high school arranges, and which is usually conducted on the school’s premises.
Alexa was very excited about the possibility of getting some amazing images, and therefore decided to bring a change of clothes with her. We began her session in the very open lobby and bar area. We then moved out to the front of the resort where we found a multitude of locations that accentuated Alea’s personality while showing off some of the Resort’s modern architecture. Alexa also wanted to have a lot of greenery in the photos, which we were able to easily incorporate into the scenery. We then moved to the back side of the resort where the pool and beach are located. We finished the session on the beach where we utilized the dilapidated but very interesting dock. Alexa was a real joy to work with, and as a result her photos reflected her easy-going personality. We are excited to welcome the Ritz-Carlton to the Turks and Caicos, and we look forward to creating many beautiful memories for its guests.
